HP DeskJet 4120 needs resetting every time I print, any suggestions?

Every time I try to print something form my DeskJet 4120 I have to turn it off at the plug and turn it back on again, it's the only thing I've found that makes it work. Obviously this is incredibly frustrating when I just want to print something quickly... any suggestions??

 

There are no internet issues, it says it's connected when I open the HP Smart app, it says either says 'ready to print' or 'printer is in use' in the print queue, and there's nothing on the display on the printer itself.
