I am assisting a user who can no longer print from their home printer. We returned the company device they use at home to Windows 10 after it was updated to Windows 11. Since then the machine gives an error every time they try to print to their home printer (Deskjet 2540).

The error message is "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem."

I have tried uninstalling the printer and the drivers. I have also tried installing the basic drivers, nothing. Get the same error every time. Downloaded and ran the diagnostics tool and Windows troubleshooter. They didn't find an error, but Windows says there is a problem.

All other devices in their home can still print to the printer. I assume there is something wrong with the driver.
