Recently printer has been acting up. As soon as press print the power lights starts flashing and after about 8 pages would stop, now it's down to 2.5 pages. I tried the diagnostics tool and said everything was in good order. The cartridges are full and the printer remains connected to wireless. I tried printing on both PDF and Word and still does the same thing. I read somewhere that if the power lights flashes it is related to maintenance / servicing but don't want to go that route yet. Or might just buy a new one. Can anyone shine a light on what it could be?

Well, there are limited options, of course.

Known solutions here:

Printer Turns Off Unexpectedly or Repeatedly

In addition to the solutions...

Heed the warning about using a Surge Protector.  These are not all equal, they can prevent "enough power" from reaching the printer to keep it running / connected - and can even fail over time to work as expected.  AT LEAST for the purpose of testing this kind of problem be sure the printer is plugged into a power outlet as opposed to a Surge Protector.

What about the big battery backup applicances that are so popular?  If the battery backup unit is near (or older than) five years old, it is likely time to replace the big batteries that run the unit.

Try / Consider:  Before giving up, move the printer to another outlet.

It is possible, the particular outlet is not providing the power needed.

Power might be "dipping" - that is, instead of the power "surging" higher, it is possible your power is "dipping" lower.

Printer cannot maintain a connection if the electrical power is not working as expected.

Could be the power supply in the printer is failing.

This is less common than other problems, but it can happen.
