Hi @Redneckreaper,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 4100 printer is consistently leaving print jobs in the queue without printing. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • If using a USB connection, check the cable connections. For wireless, ensure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and there is a stable connection.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open the Printers & scanners settings on your computer.
  • Select your DeskJet 4100 printer from the list.
  • Click on Open print queue, then cancel all jobs by selecting Cancel all. This clears any stuck jobs.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Check the printer's display panel or software on your computer for any error messages. Address the error as instructed.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Close all printing applications on your computer.
  • Restart your computer and then turn on the printer.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit https://support.hp.com/us-en  to check if there are any updates available for your printer driver. Download and install any updates if available.

Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in printer troubleshooter in Windows:
    • Go to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    • Select Printer and click Run the troubleshooter.

Check for Pending Printer Maintenance:

  • If there are any maintenance tasks like replacing ink cartridges that need to be performed, follow the instructions provided by the printer.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if a firmware update is available for your printer https://support.hp.com/us-en. This can help in resolving bugs that may cause communication issues between your computer and printer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
