HP DeskJet 4158e All-in-One Printer

My HP DeskJet 4158e will only print by pulling up a PDF document from inside of the HP Smart Print app.

If I print from another app (Word or Adobe Acrobat) or from a browser (Google Chrome), the pages are either blank or it will only print the header.

I tried to use the HP Print & Scan Doctor. It did not fix the problem.

I already followed the extensive troubleshooting directions from Dragon-Fur at this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/HP5255-will-only-print-from-HP-smart-ap...

I uninstalled all printers, drivers, deleted apps and folders, went in the Device Manager, User Folder, etc. Everything.

I looked for the installation files for my DeskJet online. I restarted the computer, re-downloaded and re-installed the HP Smart Installer. After doing all these steps, the behavior is exactly the same as I have stated at the beginning of this post. My options when printing are to print to "HP Smart Printing" (which sparks a pop-up box to confirm the printer) or to "HP10BC4A (HP DeskJet 4100 series). Regardless of which one I pick, the result is the same.

I know there are no hardware issues with the printer, because if I print a PDF within the HP Smart App, everything prints fine.

The Windows OS is up to date.

Chrome is up to date.

The computer and printer have been restarted multiple times.

I have removed the printer from the WiFi network and re-added it.

I should also add that we are printing from an HP brand laptop. You would think they would work together.

I've been troubleshooting this for hours across multiple days. Please advise.
