HP ENVY 5660 PRINTER
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

Could a HP Technician send me the procedure to reset my HP Envy 5660 Printer's Embedded Server Admin's Password? I generator a password with a Password Manager and looks like it was too complicated for the Embedded Server! Did not work afterwards. I think there are characters that the server's firmware doesn't allow but I did not check!

Anyways,

Looking forward to your answer!

Best regards,

Jean

Hi @JFLACHANCEC,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you need to reset the EWS password for your HP ENVY 5660 Printer. I would be happy to help and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution' if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I can understand the frustration you're experiencing. If you do not know the password, we will have to reset the printer to factory settings to remove it. This will remove all preferences and settings on the printer. Once you reset the printer, you will be required to reconfigure the wireless on the printer again.

I can send you that information in a private message. In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

When setting a password on the EWS, choose a password that you will remember.

TIP: Enter a password for the Administrator account. When a password is set, the administrator name (Admin) and the password are required to view or change EWS Networking. To disable the password, leave the password parameters blank.

NOTE: This password has nothing to do with network security.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! Smiley Happy

Hello,

It is not clear to me how to press the BL button in sequence. Once I press it once then the buttom left button isn't available anymore... Can you be more precise please...

Are you sure it is the good sequence?

Best regards!
