Hi @Lindstair,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've cleared the paper jam in your HP ENVY 6020 printer but are still seeing the yellow light flashing along with an error code 3, it could indicate that there might still be a small piece of paper or debris left in the printer, triggering the sensor. Here's what you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Turn off the printer: Switch off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to reset.
  • Check for any remaining paper: Carefully inspect the printer's paper path, including the input tray, output tray, and rear access panel (if applicable), for any remaining shreds of paper or debris. Use a flashlight if necessary to see clearly.
  • Remove any obstructions: If you find any paper or debris, gently remove it from the printer. Be cautious not to tear the paper, as even small remnants can trigger the sensor.
  • Manually move the carriage: If the error persists, check if the carriage (the part that holds the ink cartridges) can move freely. If it's stuck or obstructed, gently move it to its normal position. Be very careful not to force it.
  • Check for foreign objects: Sometimes, small objects like paper clips or bits of torn paper can fall into the printer and cause issues. Check for any foreign objects and remove them.
  • Reset the printer: After ensuring there are no obstructions, plug the printer back in and turn it on. This might clear the error message.
  • Check the printer's manual: If the error persists, consult the printer's manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to error code 3.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the error code 3 on your HP ENVY 6020 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
