HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

Hello,

My printer has error E and 6 flashing, all lights are on it. I have tried to resolve the issue by turning off, checking printer, checking cartridges absolutely everything even tried reset Factory settings. I checked another post and yet you didnt seem to resolve the issue. That customer "Sandy" disposed of the printer. I do not want to do this as I only purchased this printer in July. I have 9 months warranty left so its a little disappointing that I cant get help from any agent when this issue has occurred so soon after purchasing. I have tried EVERYTHING

Hi @envyissues24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "E" and "6" error on your HP Envy 6032e typically indicates a hardware issue that might not be resolved through basic troubleshooting. Here are a few additional steps you could try.

  • Power Reset: Unplug the printer completely from power. Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes this helps reset internal components.
  • Remove Cartridges: Take out the ink cartridges and inspect them for any visible damage or debris. Reinstall them, making sure they're securely in place.
  • Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions: Even small bits of paper or dust can trigger errors. Open all accessible panels to ensure the path is clear.
  • Reinstall Firmware: If you haven't done so already, reinstall the firmware. You can download the latest version from the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,

Unfortunately I have tried all these steps to no resolve. I have also reset the printer as advised by virtual assistant to factory settings and still no luck. I have replaced ink cartridges with new cartridges and still the lights and error is flashing. I’ve taking all parts out and tried to clean dust and see if there is as paper jam. Everything is coming up as working with the scan doctor except for Device status not correct.

Hi @envyissues24,

Thank you for your response,

It sounds like you're dealing with a more complex hardware issue given that the basic troubleshooting steps haven't resolved the problem with your HP ENVY 6032e. Since the "E" and "6" error usually points to a hardware-related fault, here are some advanced troubleshooting steps to try.

Clear Printer Memory and Reset Printer Completely

  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect it from both the power source and any USB or Ethernet cables. Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  • Hard Reset: Press and hold the Power button for about 30 seconds to help clear any residual memory.
  • After the reset, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check the Ink Cartridge Slots

  • Inspect Cartridge Bay: Sometimes the sensors in the ink cartridge slots can become dirty or blocked. Use a soft cloth or a can of compressed air to clean the area around the cartridge slots.
  • Reinstall Cartridges: Double-check that the cartridges are installed correctly and that they click into place securely. Make sure the protective tapes have been removed.

Firmware Update

  • Reinstall or Update Firmware: Firmware issues can cause strange errors. Check if the printer firmware is up-to-date, and if not, download and install the latest version from the HP Support page.
    • If you already have the latest firmware, consider performing a manual firmware update by downloading it to a USB drive.

Examine the Printer's Internal Mechanism

  • Check the Paper Feed and Rollers: Even if no paper jam is visible, there could be a minor obstruction or misalignment in the paper feed area. Use a flashlight to inspect hidden areas for paper particles, dust, or any small obstructions.
  • Roller Movement: Manually rotate the rollers while the printer is off to see if they are moving freely.

Printer Service Mode

  • Some printers have a service mode or diagnostic menu that can be accessed by pressing specific button combinations when turning the printer on. Check your printer’s manual or the HP website for instructions on how to enter this mode, which may give more details about the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
