When booting up the printer it gets stuck at 1 dot and will not progress further. I have found no way to flash firmware through any other method except for using the HP app online. Is their any other way to fix my printer any help would be appreciated

Hi @Yuvsha,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand that your HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One printer is stuck on a single dot during boot and does not respond further. This is a known issue that can result from a failed firmware update, a power surge, or an internal logic board fault.
Below are the steps you can try.
1. Power Reset / Hard Reset
- ✅ Unplug the printer completely
- ✅ Wait 60 seconds
- ✅ Plug directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector)
- ✅ Optional: Hold Power or Back + Cancel while plugging back in (try both)
This step is basic but crucial for recovering from firmware hangs.
2. Firmware Recovery (If USB Detection Is Possible)
- ✅ Connect via USB cable
- ✅ Try holding Cancel or Back + Cancel while plugging in to force Recovery Mode
- ✅ If recognized by Windows, download and run the firmware updater:
- ✅ If the printer shows as a USB device even without a screen booting, proceed with firmware flash
This only works if your PC detects the printer via USB. If not, skip to the next step.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
