Envy 5540
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer will not detect my wifi network. All other networks are available from surrounding houses, but it will not detect mine. I have tried moving the printer closer to the router etc, I have reset network settings and did a factory reset with no joy.

Hi there,

Do you know if your network is 2.4GHz or 5 GHz?  Looking at the product specifications for the Envy 5540, it only supports 2.4 GHz, so if your router is 5 GHz, then it won't see the printer.  Some routers can be setup to use both bands, so it would just be a matter of turning on 2.4 Ghz (you'd need to see your router specs) and connecting to it.  BUT, the PC you want to print from would also need to be connected to the 2.4 GHz band.

Hi Tara,

Thank you so much for your input. I had disabled the 2.4 Ghz option on the router. Enabling it instantly solved the problem!

Kind Regards,

Dave
