Thank you. Went out of town for 2 weeks, came back this crazy error. Did what Doug said and others, by lifting top of lid and pressing power button down while pressing others. Worked.

Yup, this crazy fix worked for me too! After spending 2 hours trawling thru the HP website it's finally a user who comes up with the fix. Many thanks.
