HP Envy 4520 All-in-one Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After recent HP software updates, including installation of HP Smart, my HP Envy 4520 all-in-one color printer began printing only in greyscacle. I tryied to access the preferences to switch to everyday color printing, but the options for greyscale or color have disappeared since the update.

After repeated efforts in various platforms, I  began getting an error message reported multiple times by others since 2017.

What I did:

Uninstalled all HP software

Removed device from printers & devices

Rebooted computer

Turned on printer, then unplugged (overnight, just to be sure)

Reinstalled HP softwared from website using latest software.

Plugged in printer, connected via WiFi

Printed test page - received cololr printout with all the colors

Tried to print document in color - got greyscale again.
