Hi @jg824,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 4520 printer is showing a blank blue screen and the power button does not light up, it indicates a potential hardware issue. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Power Connection:

  1. Verify Power Connection: Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet. Try plugging the printer into a different outlet to rule out power issues.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  1. Power Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect Power Cord: Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect Power Cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer.
  4. Power On the Printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer and see if the blue screen persists.

3. Check for Obstructions:

  1. Inspect Printer: Open the printer cover and check for any obstructions or debris inside the printer, such as paper jams or foreign objects.
  2. Remove Obstructions: If you find any obstructions, carefully remove them from the printer.

4. Update Printer Firmware (if possible):

  1. Access Printer Settings: If your printer has a functional display screen, navigate to the settings menu.
  2. Check for Updates: Look for an option to check for firmware updates. If updates are available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
