Microsoft Windows 11

I cant print or basically operate anything on the printer, because of this light that keep showing next to the tray. It blinks solid yellow and when I go into HP Smart it says that the tray isn't closed, although it is. I already tried the common sense problems such as shutting the printer down waiting a few and all that. Tried downloading new drivers, but it keep saying that the printer is busy. Need assistance with this problem.

Hi @Mo2681,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that the printer has a solid yellow light.

The light bar glows amber if there is a printing error. Look at the other lights on the printer to find and resolve the error you are experiencing.

Light bar glowing amber

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Try the steps in the document under the tab"Lightbar glows amber"-

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Click here

If the issue persists, this could be a hardware issue, Contact phone support for more options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
