1 year old HP Envy 6502e All In One printer has E6 error flashing.  I have tried to unplug, reinstall drivers and cannot get it to clear the error and print.

I read in the comments to do a factory reset, but i'm not sure how to do that.

Any suggestions please??

Hi @TC2016

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP printer, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

  • Check for Jammed Paper: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper or foreign objects that may be obstructing the carriage's movement. Gently remove any paper or debris you find.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 1-2 minutes. Plug the printer back in and turn it on again to see if the error clears.
  • Inspect Carriage Path: Manually move the carriage to both sides of the printer to ensure it moves freely without obstruction. If it's stuck or does not move freely, there may be a mechanical issue that needs professional servicing.
  • Clean the Carriage Rod: If the carriage moves but is making unusual noises or seems to stick, clean the carriage rod with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water. Avoid using alcohol or other solvents.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve known issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
