Was initially getting an E6 message. Followed instructions provided by virtual assistance to open printer remove cartridges, and turn off printer wait 12 minutes. Printer was non responsive to being turned off, instead printer lights went into a blinking spiral and nothing is working.

Hi @Bklyn718,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Envy 6548e is stuck in a loop. The blinking spiral could indicate a firmware or hardware issue. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the problem.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source completely.
  • Wait for about 5 minutes.
  • While unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

Check the Cartridges:

  • Open the printer and remove the cartridges.
  • Check for any obstructions or ink spills that could be causing the issue.
  • Reinsert the cartridges properly and ensure they click into place.

Reset the Printer:

  • If the lights continue blinking, you may need to reset the printer to its factory settings.
  • To reset, turn off the printer. Press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons (the ones with the red and blue indicators) while turning the printer back on. Keep holding them for about 5-10 seconds until the printer begins the reset process.

Firmware Update:

  • If you can access the printer’s settings menu via your computer or HP Smart app, check for any available firmware updates that might resolve the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
