HP Envy 7830 Frozen - Control Panel Frozen, have done everything recommended unplugged etc but still the same.
Looks like it was in the process of updating and has got stuck on that screen, showing the HP logo, thin blue line underneath and a number of grey dots half of which have turned blue.
It has been working perfectly up until now
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks guys

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- What is the exact model for your printer?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check whether the issue is resolved.
1.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
2.Remove USB cable, if present.
3.Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
4.Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
5.Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette
Thank you so much for your response to my query, so glad I posted on here first.
The last time it was used was last week, we are occasional users (home office)
I have followed your instructions and 'Hey Presto' it worked!! It appears that it had frozen whilst installing the latest update as it now say it has been successfully installed!
You have saved us a telephone call to HP.
Thank you again, no doubt this will help others who may have the same issue.
Have a good day!

Perfect, I am really glad to hear that!
If any other questions arise, please feel free to write back to me.
Good day! Take care 🙂
Cheers!
