Note for common printer problems
Customers receiving the"will damage your computer" message along with others like "unable to access cups/tmp" or "'@%' cannot be opened" need to update their version of the macOS. HP Envy 7855 - Prints too many copies

Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

When I try to use my HP Envy 7855 to make a copy of a document, it seems to default to always print 4 copies.  If I remember to input the number of pages I want before I start copying, it DOES print the number of copies that I request.  But it always defaults back to print 4 copies.  How can I change this?  Thanks

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

 

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware
