HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

My HP 7855 Envy printer is giving me an error message: 00829C98. I recently changed from a HP computer to a new Apple laptop, but for the past month,  it has been printing without any problems. Any ideas what this error code means, and how can I correct it? Thanks, Anonymous 1234

Hi @Anonomous1234,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 00829C98 on your HP Envy 7855 typically indicates a hardware issue, often related to the printer's internal components. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
  • Clear any jammed paper carefully.

3. Inspect Cartridges

  • Ensure all ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
  • Remove the cartridges and reseat them, checking for any visible damage.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Connect the printer to your Apple laptop and check for any firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website.

5. Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

  • Navigate to the printer's settings menu and look for an option to restore factory defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
