HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

My HP Envy 7855 is stuck on the first dot during power on / boot. I have tried unplugging, holding the power button for a power drain, resetting the router, and none of these have worked. What is the trick for a factor reset?

I understand that your printer is stuck on loading screen.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Kudos for trying to troubleshoot, I appreciate your time and patience.


A > Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.


1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

No - this did not resolve the issue. The printer powers on, gets to the loading screen and freezes on the first dot. I cannot update firmware because the unit is stuck in boot cycle
