Hi @Robert_Aylward,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXC4EB8001 on your HP Envy Photo 6234 printer, combined with the ink leakage issue, indicates a hardware malfunction, often related to the ink system, printhead, or internal components. Here are a few steps you can try to address both the error and the ink leakage.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and carefully inspect for any bits of paper or debris.
  • If you find any paper stuck, gently remove it.
  • Check both the input and output paper trays, and behind the ink carriage.

Clean Ink Spillage:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the ink cartridge access area and carefully remove the black ink cartridge.
  • Clean any visible ink leakage inside the printer using a lint-free cloth. Avoid touching the electrical contacts or printhead nozzles.
  • If ink has leaked onto the electrical contacts, you can use a slightly damp cloth to clean them. Be very gentle to avoid causing damage.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn the printer on. This can sometimes clear temporary errors.

Reinsert or Replace Ink Cartridges:

  • After cleaning, reinsert the ink cartridge, ensuring it's properly seated in the printer.
  • If the black ink cartridge is damaged, leaking excessively, or malfunctioning, you may need to replace it with a new one.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes error codes can be resolved by installing the latest firmware update through the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings menu.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • If the error persists or if you continue to experience ink leakage, it could indicate a problem with the printhead or ink delivery system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
