HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

The printer just stopped working. It's stuck on the 1st dot during boot. I have reset the printer by removing the power cable and waiting 2 minutes. It always gets stuck on the next reboot. This printer is barely used.

Hi @wcaetano,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-In-One Printer is stuck on the first dot during boot and a power cycle hasn't resolved the issue, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check for Jammed Paper or Foreign Objects:

  • Even if you don't see any obvious jams, check the paper feed area and inside the printer for any foreign objects or small pieces of paper that might be causing the issue.

Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve boot issues. If you can access the HP Smart app or the HP website, check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer model.

Disconnect All Cables:

  • Unplug all cables (power, USB, etc.) and wait for a few minutes before reconnecting them. This can sometimes reset internal components.

Try a Different Power Source:

  • Plug the printer into a different electrical outlet to rule out power issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer powered on, press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, then release it. Wait a minute and then try powering the printer back on.

Inspect the Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly seated and there are no obstructions in the cartridge area.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
