Brand new Envy Pro 6455. After a lengthy process configuring the printer dropped the configuration overnight, reverting to sweeping purple light and error E9. Can't communicate with printer via wireless or usb.

@Keith85, Welcome to HP Support Community!

An E9 error occurs when a problem occurs during a printer firmware update.

  1. Set up the wireless setup again.

For more information, go to Wireless Printer Setup.

  2. Touch the Information button

If the information page prints, the printer is back to the normal state.

If the printer fails to print the Information page, it is still in recovery mode and needs to download the firmware again.

During recovery mode, the printer automatically downloads firmware from the cloud. Leave the printer about 2 hours, depending on your network speed, to complete firmware download and update.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
