HP Envy Pro 6458
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have an HP envy pro 6458 that refuses to print in color from my 2020 imac. I've tried literally everything to no avail. It's not a hardware issue because a test report prints color fine.

-updated firmwrare

-updated drivers

-checked ink levels

-there are no settings anywhere either on the prints screen or in HP smart to switch to color.

This is just completely and unfathomably crazy to me that a printer can't print color from a computer. The most fundamental function of the printer and here I am on support forums as a last ditch effort before I throw this in the trash and go buy another brand. The extra $50 for a new one is probably cheaper than the hours I've lost in total on this printer troubleshooting it in the few months I've owned it.
