HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

We have an HP ENVY 6455e printer. Until recently, it was still on its first ink cartridges that came with the printer. When we enrolled in Instant Ink, HP started charging us for ink used in these cartridges that came with the printer. We're now switching to our first Instant Ink cartridges. Can we get a refund for the money HP charged us to use the ink we bought before signing up for Instant Ink?

Hi @tired_of_inkjet,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with the instant ink charges even while using the ink cartridges that came with the printer.

Few printers come with insant ink ready ink cartridges that are sent along with the printer for users to enroll in the instant ink if they wish to subscribe from the initial setup of the printer.

HP Instant Ink subscription charges are based on page usage, not on the origin of the ink cartridges. Once you enroll in the program, any printing done (including with non-Instant Ink cartridges) is counted towards your monthly page allotment. Unfortunately, this means that even if you were using the original cartridges that came with the printer, HP charges based on your usage under the subscription terms.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
