Hi @Piotr_Krakow, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your HP LaserJet 140we printer displaying error code 76 and a blinking warning light. This error typically indicates an internal issue with the printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Reset the Printer:

  • Power Off: Press the power button to turn off the printer. If it doesn't respond, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug: Remove the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait: Allow the printer to sit unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect: Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Power On: Turn the printer back on.

This reset can help clear internal errors and restore functionality.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date, as outdated firmware can lead to errors.
  • Instructions: Visit HP official website or refer to your printer's manual for detailed steps on updating the firmware.

Inspect Toner Cartridge:

  • Reinstall: Remove the toner cartridge and then reinstall it to ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Replace if Necessary: If the cartridge appears damaged or is near the end of its life, consider replacing it.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Access Print Queue: On your computer, navigate to the printer settings and view the print queue.
  • Delete Pending Jobs: Remove any stuck print jobs, as they can cause errors.

Set Printer as Default:

  • Access Devices and Printers: Go to your computer's Control Panel and select "Devices and Printers."
  • Set as Default: Right-click on your HP LaserJet 140we printer and choose "Set as default printer."

Ensuring your printer is the default device can prevent miscommunication between your computer and the printer.
