Brand new printer. When I use the feeder it feeds fine but the print out is missing about 2 in of the printed page. Sometimes it's a skid mark sometimes it's just a blank section. It shows an error code 41.

@MunkyBz, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Error code 41 generally relates to a temporary print engine error. It can cause issues such as improper page feeding, missing sections on printouts, or even streaks and blank pages. To resolve such problems when using the document feeder on your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw, you can try the following steps:

Power Reset:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds before reconnecting the cord.
  • Turn the printer back on and see if the issue persists.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the paper tray and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might affect the feeding.
  • Carefully remove any stuck paper.

Inspect the Document Feeder:

  • Ensure the document feeder's path is clear and unobstructed. Remove any debris or paper fragments.
  • Check if the roller inside the feeder is clean and intact.

Use Correct Paper Size and Type:

  • Ensure that the paper loaded in the feeder is of the correct size and type specified for your printer model.
  • Adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the paper being used.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP Support website.
  • Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve bugs and enhance printer performance.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
