Printer has a new drum and black toner cartridge.  All of a sudden it won't print or copy from the glass.  If I turn it all off and on it may print on or two pages and then blank pages.

Hi @Sunderdude ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the issue with your HP LaserJet 100 MFP M175 printing blank pages even after installing a new drum and black toner cartridge could stem from several causes. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the problem:

1. Check the Toner Cartridge and Drum Installation

  • Reinstall the cartridge and drum: Ensure the toner cartridge and drum are properly seated in the printer. Misalignment can cause blank pages.
  • Verify compatibility: Confirm that the toner and drum are genuine HP parts and compatible with your printer model.

2. Inspect the Cartridge and Drum

  • Check for protective seals: Make sure all protective seals or covers have been removed from the toner cartridge and drum.
  • Examine for damage: Look for any visible damage, such as scratches or leaks, on the drum or toner cartridge.

3. Clean the Printer

  • Clean the rollers: Use a lint-free cloth to clean the pickup rollers and feed rollers. Dust or debris on the rollers can cause paper feed issues.
  • Clean the laser scanner window: Accumulated dust can block the laser beam, resulting in blank pages. Refer to your printer manual for cleaning instructions.

4. Perform a Test Print

  • Use the printer’s control panel to print a Configuration Page or Diagnostic Page:
    • Press the Setup button (or its equivalent on your model).
    • Navigate to Reports > Configuration Report and print.
  • Check if the page prints correctly. If it’s blank, the issue may be with the hardware.

5. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 1–2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can resolve temporary glitches.

6. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Outdated firmware can cause printing issues. Update your printer’s firmware using HP's support website:
    • Visit the HP Software and Drivers website.
    • Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware for your operating system.

7. Driver and Software Check

  • Ensure that the printer drivers are correctly installed and up to date.
  • Reinstall the printer driver:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Remove the printer and add it back after downloading the latest drivers from the HP website.

8. Perform a Hard Reset

  • A hard reset can clear internal errors:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.
    • Reconnect the printer and turn it on.

9. Hardware Diagnostics

  • Drum sensor: A malfunctioning drum sensor can lead to blank pages. Ensure it’s clean and functioning.
  • Fuser unit: If the fuser unit isn’t heating properly, toner won’t fuse onto the paper. This requires professional servicing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
