Why does the HP Laserjet MFP M139-M142 Never print without messing with it for 10 minutes first? turning it on and off, connecting cables, never works wirelessly. At this rate I am ready to huck it when the cartridge is empty

I completely understand how frustrating it must be to spend so much time just getting your printer to work.

 

Check Wireless Setup (Ensuring Proper Connection)

  • Verify that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi. On the printer’s control panel, print a Wireless Network Test Report to see if there are connection issues.

Update Printer Drivers (Eliminate Driver Conflicts)

  • Ensure the latest printer drivers are installed on your computer. Go to the HP Support website, download, and install the most recent drivers and software for your printer model.

Assign Static IP Address (Stabilize Network Connection)

  • Assign a static IP to your printer through your router settings to prevent frequent disconnection issues.

Reset Network Settings (Starting Fresh)

  • Reset the printer’s network settings and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi. On the printer’s control panel, look for the option to restore network defaults, then set up the wireless connection again.

Use HP Smart App (Streamline the Wireless Process)

  • Use the HP Smart app to manage the printer’s wireless connection, as this can make the connection process smoother and reduce setup headaches.
