I have 2 printers. HP-M-110 and a M-29. Both have been printing well up thru the first 20 pages, or so. Then they both have slowed to 2 pages and stop for 2 min and then print 2 pages, then stop, then print... I am connected via our home wifi on the M-110. I can only print via the M-29 direct network.

Hi @jwillinghamL60,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having printing issues.
When your printers slow down and stop intermittently after printing the first 20 pages, it could be due to several factors, including connectivity issues, print job size, or printer settings. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue for both your HP LaserJet M110 and M29 printers:
1. Check for Firmware Updates
- Ensure both printers have the latest firmware installed.
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer models (HP LaserJet M110 and M29) and download any available firmware updates.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
2. Check Printer Settings
- Sleep Mode: Ensure the printers are not going into sleep mode too quickly.
- Access the printer settings via the control panel or HP Smart app.
- Adjust the sleep mode settings to a longer duration.
3. Network Connectivity
- Wi-Fi Strength: Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable. Poor connectivity can cause delays in printing.
- Move the printers closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
- Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference.
- Router Settings: Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection.
- Direct Network: For the M29, ensure the direct network connection is stable and not being interrupted by other devices.
4. Print Job Size and Spooling
- Large Print Jobs: Large or complex print jobs can slow down printing.
- Try breaking down large documents into smaller parts and printing them separately.
- Spooling Settings: Adjust the print spooling settings to start printing after the last page is spooled.
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Printer properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and select Start printing after last page is spooled.
Kindly check the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @jwillinghamL60,
Please find the next steps below
5. Driver and Software Updates
- Update Drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for both printers.
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Download and install the latest drivers for the HP LaserJet M110 and M29 printers.
- HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to manage and update your printers.
6. Print Queue and Memory
- Clear Print Queue: Ensure there are no stuck or large print jobs in the print queue.
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel any pending or stuck print jobs.
- Printer Memory: If the printers have limited memory, they may slow down with large print jobs. Restart the printers to clear memory.
7. Environmental Factors
- Ensure the printers are not overheating. Overheating can cause them to slow down or pause between print jobs.
- Place the printers in a well-ventilated area.
8. Factory Reset
- If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset on both printers. This will reset all settings to default and may resolve any underlying issues.
- Refer to the printer manual or the HP Support website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the intermittent printing issue with your HP LaserJet M110 and M29 printers.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a more specific hardware or software problem. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
