Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, My customer has a HP OfficeJet Pro 8019. The printer has an error message that the ADF feeder has a jam. The printer prints fine. They can use the flat glass to scan, so the actual scanner is working. We've cleaned the ADF paper path. We've reset the printer, with no change to the error. I checked the ADF. The "paper loaded" sensor works fine. I found the "paper jam" sensor on the underside of the ADF. It's clear of any dust or debris. The sensor lever moves easily. It appears to be a problem with the emitter, detector or wiring to the paper jam sensor. Does anyone have the hardware maintenance manual for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8019? Or can someone lookup the correct part number for the ADF paper jam sensor and wiring? Or any other suggestions on correcting the ADF paper jam? Thanks

@scaly_mtn_cs, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding ADF Jam Error on HP OfficeJet Pro 8019!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When encountering an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) jam error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8019, here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check ADF Paper Path: Make sure to thoroughly clean the ADF paper path to ensure there is no residual debris that might cause jams. Small bits can sometimes obstruct sensors or rollers.

Inspect ADF Components: Double-check that all components, including paper jam sensors and paper loaded sensors, are functioning correctly. Ensure there is no hidden debris affecting their operation and that they are properly connected.

Reset the Printer: Often, resetting the printer can resolve error messages:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait 60 seconds, then replug the cord and turn the printer back on.

Manually Service ADF Rollers: Misalignment or dirt on ADF rollers can cause jams. Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers gently. Allow them to dry completely before testing the ADF again.

Check Scanner Settings: Occasionally, settings related to the scanner might trigger errors. Verify settings to ensure the correct configuration.

Reconnection of Components: Ensure all ADF related cables and connections (including USB if applicable) are securely attached, which can sometimes correct errors caused by loose connections.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
