Hi @kzscreen,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I truly understand how frustrating it is to face a Supply System Problem right after replacing your black ink cartridge, especially when you're using genuine HP cartridges and just want to get back to printing. You're doing everything right, and I’m here to help you resolve.

Step 1: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the Power button.
  2. If it doesn’t turn off, unplug the power cord.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  5. Turn it back on and check if the error clears.

Step 2: Inspect the Cartridge Vents

Sometimes, glue residue or debris on the cartridge vent can trigger this error.

  1. Remove the black cartridge.
  2. Check the vent on top of the cartridge (small circular hole).
  3. Use a pin or paperclip to gently clear any adhesive or blockage.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge firmly into its slot.

Step 3: Try a New Cartridge

Even genuine HP cartridges can occasionally be defective.

  • Try a third cartridge if available.
  • Make sure it’s not a setup cartridge and is compatible with the 8715.

Step 4: Reseat the Printhead (if applicable)

If your printer has a carriage latch:

  1. Open the cartridge access door.
  2. Lift the latch and gently remove the printhead.
  3. Reinsert it, wiggle slightly left and right, and close the latch.
  4. Repeat up to three times if the error persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @kzscreen,

I hear your frustration loud and clear. Setting up a new printer like the HP OfficeJet Pro 9129e can feel overwhelming, especially when you're just trying to get basic features like fax working. I’ll walk you through it step-by-step.

Step 1: Connect the Fax Line

  • Plug one end of a phone cord into the 1-LINE port on the back of the printer.
  • Plug the other end into a wall jack or phone splitter.
  • If you’re using a DSL line, you’ll need a DSL filter between the wall jack and the printer.

Step 2: Configure Fax Settings

On the printer’s touchscreen:

  1. Tap Settings > Fax Setup > Basic Setup.
  2. Enter your fax header (your name and fax number).
  3. Set answer mode to Automatic if you want the printer to answer incoming faxes.
  4. Set the rings to answer (usually 2–5 rings).

Step 3: Test the Fax

  • Use the Fax Test Report feature:
    • Go to Settings > Fax Setup > Tools > Run Fax Test.
    • The printer will check the line and print a report.

Step 4: Send a Fax

  • Load your document in the ADF (top tray) or on the scanner glass.
  • Tap Fax on the home screen.
  • Enter the recipient’s fax number.
  • Tap Send.

 I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
