Have you tried cleaning the ink cartridges?

Thank you for your reply.  Yes.  I got this product over a year ago from a person who only used it a few times and moved.  I kept it in the box.  When I first tried to use it, the color copies from my email printed out okay.  After a few good copies, lines appeared across the copies and then the colors also became faint.  I purchased a new color cartridge and the first few pages printed out okay.  Then the copies came out with the skipped lines.  I cleaned the black and white cartridge, but it made no difference.  The black cartridge is still full.  Maybe my only option is to try a new black cartridge, but I'd hate to purchase another cartridge only to end up with more issues.
