HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 is getting a false " paper jam " error

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

I read and followed all the instructions from this thread ( link below).  Unplugged everything. Cleaned all ink cartridges etc.  but in addition to getting error 0x6100004a, I am also told my printer was shut down incorrectly and when I move past that it keeps telling me I have a paper jam.  There is no paper... not even the tiniest piece anywhere. After doing all that I start all over again and get all 3 messages again and again.

Hi @sw28,

If you have already performed the steps from the document A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
