HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 Will Not Print

HP Recommended

I got this printer a few weeks ago, and I have yet to print the first thing. I got the app, finally got it to connect to my computer, phone, etc., but still, when I try to print anything, it just stalls. Any idea what's going on with this thing? Thanks so much.

@Beth123123, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

To assist you better, are you using a Win 10 PC?

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page, and then evaluate the results.

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

  2. Swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If you are able to print the test page and make a copy, it means the printer hardware is working fine.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
