Hi @Fiskers,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer's AirPrint keeps pausing, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.
- iOS Device: Restart your iPhone or iPad.
Check Printer Status
- Ensure the printer is online and not in an error state.
- Check for any error messages on the printer’s display or in the printer settings.
Update Printer Firmware
- Go to the HP website and download the latest firmware for your OfficeJet Pro 8020 series.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware via the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
Reset Network Settings
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings and choose to reset the network settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Reinstall Printer on iOS Device
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device and make sure you’re connected to the correct network.
- Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners (or Printers) and remove the OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer.
- Re-add the printer by selecting Add Printer or Print and choosing the OfficeJet Pro 8020 series from the list.
Check for Software Conflicts
- Ensure no other print management software on your iOS device or network could be causing conflicts.
Reset Printer to Factory Settings
- If none of the above steps work, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
