HP OfficeJet Pro 2025-e shows event code 62.80.13 (There is a problem with the printerhead). I can temporarily clear the code but it reappears in about 12 hours. The printer prints correctly. How can I permanently fix or clear this code?

Note that I have searched the HP Support website for solutions and have tried many, to no avail.

General info:

  • Printer is connected to wifi.
  • I have Instant Ink.
  • I performed no operation preceding this issue. It appeared randomly.

I have tried the following fixes:

  • Made sure the firmware is up to date.
  • Power cycled: multiple times. Code clears and then reappears after about 12 hours while the printer is idle.
  • Tried both of these and the printed output is perfect:

                   * Performed printerhead alignment.

                   * Performed printerhead cleaning.

Any more ideas? Could there be a bug in the latest firmware update?

Thanks!!

Hi @Lynn331,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 62.80.13 on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025-e indicates a problem with the printhead. Given that you've already attempted several troubleshooting steps, there are a few more advanced actions you can take to try to resolve the issue:

Check for Printhead Connection Issues:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer and carefully remove the printhead.
  • Inspect the printhead contacts and the corresponding contacts inside the printer for any signs of damage, ink buildup, or debris. Clean these contacts gently with a lint-free cloth and some distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Reinstall the printhead securely and power the printer back on.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset:

  • Unplug the printer while it's still on.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in while holding down the power button.
  • Release the power button once the printer starts booting up. This reset can sometimes clear persistent error codes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you! The semi-full reset cleared the code.

Note that I didn't clean the printhead, because I saw no evidence that there was anything wrong with it. The printer prints correctly.
