Hi, My printer will print a full page of text from Word fine, but won't print full page graphics. It only prints 1/2 the page from PDF or PNG. IT used to work fine.

Hi @Mamaslom, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thanks for popping in with your printer puzzle! 🧩 Full-page graphics giving your OfficeJet Pro 8710 the jitters, huh?  Sounds like we've got some digital graphics gremlins trying to throw a party in your printouts... and not the fun kind!  Don't worry, we're about to become expert gremlin wranglers!  💪

Let's dive into these steps, think of it as a mini-adventure in printer problem-solving!

Restart Everything

  1. Power off the printer, computer, and router.
  2. Unplug the printer from power for at least 1 minute.
  3. Turn everything back on and try printing again.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Check for driver updates:

  • Go to HP Support (HP Software and Drivers) and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  • Install them and restart your PC.

Reinstall the printer:

  • Remove the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Uninstall HP software from Apps & Features.
  • Restart your PC and reinstall the printer using the latest drivers.

Try a Different PDF Viewer

  • If the issue happens with PDFs, try opening them in Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of the built-in Windows/Mac PDF viewer.
  • In Acrobat Reader, go to Print > Advanced > Print As Image and try printing.

Check Paper Size & Scaling Settings

  • Ensure that Page Size matches your actual paper size (A4, Letter, etc.).
  • In Print Settings, check:
    • "Fit to Page" or "Scale to Fit" is enabled.
    • "Borderless Printing" is off unless needed.

Print a Test Image

  • Try printing a different image file (JPEG, BMP, PNG) from another app (like Paint or Photoshop) to check if the issue is with a specific format.

Reset the Printer

  1. Factory reset the printer:
    • Open the printer control panel.
    • Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
    • Confirm reset and retry printing.

I hope this helps. We're here cheering you on from the HP Support sidelines!  📣

Take care and have a good day.
