HP OfficeJet Pro 9010

We have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9010, which has worked well--until now. Every time we try to print something, we get a message saying "Load Plain Paper, Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) Paper in Tray". The problem is: there is plenty of paper in the tray. That paper is in good condition and is sitting in the proper position in the tray, which has clicked in properly. Not knowing what to do, we have been thru the videos on the HP site, which led to cleaning the rollers (they weren't dusty). It didn't help. Tearing our hair out (this printer was a wedding gift from my sister, during the pandemic, and is 15 months old!), we tried turning off the printer and waited some time before turning it back on, in hopes it would reset. Still the same problem. What else can we do?

p.s. to @SANDYTECHY20 I posted this issue once before, and you kindly responded. However, I couldn't access the private message you sent to me with the steps to reset the printer. You said to check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of the screen, but that didn't yield anything for me. Could you please resend? Thanks.

@mlcox1

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand you are getting this error on the printer screenReset the printer and update the firmware to help prevent the issue from happening again in the future.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  1. Wait for the light bar to turn blue-white or white.
  2. Update the printer firmware. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading the Printer Firmware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
