Hi @Scott503G,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer settings in the print dialog box on your computer are configured for double-sided (duplex) printing and color printing.
  • On your computer, go to the printer properties and check if the "Print on both sides" option is selected under the printer settings.

Driver and Software Update:

  • Ensure that the printer driver is up-to-date. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest driver for your printer model.
  • Verify that the full-feature HP software suite is installed rather than the basic driver, as the full-feature driver often has more functionality.

Printer Configuration:

  • Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) using its IP address in a web browser. From the EWS, verify that the duplexer (for double-sided printing) is enabled and color printing is not restricted.
  • Check under the "Device Settings" to ensure duplexing is enabled if it's an option available there.

Restart Printer:

  • A simple restart of the printer can sometimes resolve these issues. Turn the printer off, wait for about 60 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Paper Settings:

  • Make sure that the paper type and size settings on the printer match what’s loaded in the printer. Incompatible settings might prevent certain features from working.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a printer reset to clear any existing errors. You can do this by unplugging the printer from power, waiting for about a minute, and then plugging it back in.

Printer Error Codes:

  • If there is a specific error code provided (like mentioned "HPE7053E"), check the HP website for detailed information related to that specific error.

I hope this helps.
