HP Officejet Pro 9010 will not print from anyplace other than PC document files and seems to only print Office docs.  I cannot print from websites or download docs to save any print unless they are Office or sometimes pdf

Hi @BCFlorida

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is having selective printing issues. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem:

1. Check Printer Status and Connectivity

  • Ensure that your printer is online and connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Print a test page directly from the printer’s control panel to confirm that it’s working.

2. Set Default Printer

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is set as the default printer.

3. Update Printer Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
  • Expand the Printers section, right-click on your printer, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

4. Check Print Queue

  • Open the print queue by double-clicking the printer icon in the taskbar.
  • If there are stuck jobs in the queue, clear them and try printing again.

5. Run Printer Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Click on Additional troubleshooters, then select Printer and run the troubleshooter.

6. Check Application Settings

  • Make sure the applications you're trying to print from are configured to print to the correct printer.
  • Check for any print settings within those applications that might restrict printing.

7. Reinstall Printer

  • In Printers & Scanners, remove the OfficeJet Pro 9010.
  • Then click on Add a printer or scanner to reinstall it.

8. Reset Print Spooler

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

9. Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings

  • Sometimes, security software can block printing. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software to see if it resolves the issue.

10. Firmware Update

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer:
    • Go to the HP support website and look up your printer model to find firmware updates.

11. Try Printing in Safe Mode

  • Boot your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and try printing again. This can help identify if another program is causing the conflict.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
