HP Officejet 4635 e-All-in-One Printer

I had an error message that popped up and i could not turn off the printer. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, but it will no longer turn on. I have tried different outlets, unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in, and waiting a few days.

@User12345651, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your HP Officejet 4635 has experienced a hardware failure, especially since it won’t power on at all even after trying different outlets and power cycles. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot or confirm whether it’s repairable:

Check the Power Adapter & Cord

Make sure you're using the original HP power adapter and cord.

Verify that the power brick shows a green light or is warm—this indicates it's supplying power.

If possible, test with another compatible HP power adapter to rule out a dead power supply.

Basic Reset Procedure

Unplug the printer completely (power cord from both printer and wall).

Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds (with it unplugged).

Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (no surge protectors).

Try turning it on.

Check for Signs of Life

Does any light flash or do you hear any noise (fan, motor click, display flicker) when plugging it in or pressing the power button?

If no signs of life at all, it’s likely a power supply or internal board failure.

If you hear something but no display, it could be a display or logic board issue.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
