Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 7500A - E910a I am trying to use on an HP PC with Windows 10.

I cannot get past the message “General Error” 0x61011beb.  HP Print & Scan Doctor says there is a problem with “Device Status” and then to check trays/doors/paper jams & that the carriage moves (all good), then to “Clear any error on printer display” and retry – I can’t clear the display.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

Hi @Kinkino,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x61011beb on HP Officejet 7500A usually indicates an issue with the printer's internal hardware or a communication problem between the printer and the computer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the outlet, wait for about a minute, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer again. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can clear out temporary issues.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Even if you've checked before, double-check for any paper jams inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause this error.
  • Inspect Carriage: Make sure the carriage, where the ink cartridges are seated, can move freely. Sometimes, it can get stuck due to obstructions or ink buildup.
  • Reset the Printer: To reset the printer, you may have to perform a specific sequence of steps as directed in the printer's manual. Typically, this involves holding down certain buttons while turning on the printer.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Windows 10 PC. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause communication errors between the printer and the computer.
  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: If you haven't already, download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. It can diagnose and automatically fix many printing problems.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or network connection. Sometimes, loose connections can cause communication errors.
  • Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer. However, be aware that this will reset all settings on the printer, including network settings, so you'll need to set it up again.

Try these steps one by one, and hopefully, you'll be able to resolve the "General Error" 0x61011beb on your HP Officejet 7500A.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
