HP Officejet Pro 8610 error 0wc19a0013

I have had my officejet 8610 for 5 years now. I have taken care of it, used the self printhead cleaning function often, and have put ink in it quite a few times during its lifespan so far with no issues whatsoever. Yesterday I ran out of color ink, bought genuine hp ink from the store, replaced the ink, and received the error 0wc190013 for the first time. I did some reading and I first released the print head, lifted it up slightly from its carriage, and put it back again. This had no effect on the error. Next I tried unplugging the cord from the back for a hard reboot, and plugged it back in. The screen cleared the error for between 5-10 seconds, then the error came back. I tried this a few more times, and the same result occurred.  I feel like it wants to work but something might have been thrown off when I pushed in the ink cartridges. Any suggestions on how to fix or troubleshoot this?
