I have wasted an enormous amount of time scouring the internet threads, posts, and videos to try to find a solution to my problem. Simply put, my HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer keeps displaying a "missing or failed printhead" error. Yes, I have already tried removing the printhead, unplugging and plugging back in, updating my firmware and everything in between.

All I need now are the steps to do a hard reset. That's it.

If you know what these steps are, please for the love of God share them with me. I am going out of my mind trying to fix this issue, which seems to be happening to sooo many others! It seems so silly to even consider buying a new printer, when I know this is probably an easy fix.

Ps - My printer was in absolute perfect working condition and I had been using it a day before it suddenly started showing this error.

@sg29, welcome to HP Support Community!

I would first recommend you to try Resolving Printhead Errors to resolve the issue. If the issue persists, we can try performing a complete reset on the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps!
