Hi @WallyWorld1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 printer is displaying a blue screen with the error code B80DAA72 and is unresponsive, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Power Off: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet.
  • Disconnect All Cables: Disconnect any USB or network cables connected to the printer.
  • Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for about 5 minutes.
  • Plug Back In: Plug the printer back into the power outlet and turn it on. Check if the issue persists.

2. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Inspect the printer for any visible signs of hardware failure or damage. Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer that could be causing the error.

3. Firmware Recovery

  • If the hard reset does not resolve the issue, you can attempt a firmware recovery:
    • Access the Firmware Recovery Mode: Power on the printer while holding down the # and 6 buttons on the control panel. This may help trigger the firmware recovery mode if it’s available.
    • Follow Instructions: If the printer enters recovery mode, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

4. Update Firmware (if accessible)

  • If you can access the printer’s control panel after recovery, check for any firmware updates:
    • Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer or a similar option to update the firmware.

If the printer remains unresponsive and the error persists,  Since the error code may indicate a deeper hardware issue, HP Support may provide a solution that involves repair or replacement. it's best to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

On/off button is unresponsive and unplugging for even an hour does nothing. All I get is the same blue screen with error code when plugged back in. Do you have a phone number I can call to talk with someone? Thanks
