The response did not address the question. I have two brand new 952 XL HP packages that the cartridges are not accepted now after so many years of using my HPOfficeJet8715. So how can this be? And will HP accept the return and give credit to the brand-new packages? Is there a way to avoid this issue?

I understand that you are having issues with cartridge error.
Try updating the firmware. Click here
If you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, either the cartridges are faulty or the printer itself. In such case, you may have to contact phone support for service or replacement.
