@Rashmishasi Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Officejet Pro K8600 is printing random symbols or gibberish, and I’ll be happy to help you resolve this.

This issue is often caused by a corrupted print driver, incorrect printer language settings, or communication issues between the printer and the computer. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

Check the Printer Connection

  • Ensure the USB or network cable is securely connected.
  • If using a network printer, try printing a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel to confirm connectivity.

Cancel All Print Jobs

  1. On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP Officejet Pro K8600 and select See what’s printing.
  3. Cancel all pending print jobs.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer Driver

  1. In Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and choose Remove device.
  2. Go to Programs and Features and uninstall any HP software related to the K8600.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Download and install the latest driver from the official HP site: HP Officejet Pro K8600 Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Print a Test Page

After reinstalling, try printing a test page:

  • Go to Devices and Printers, right-click the printer > Printer Properties > Print Test Page.

Check Printer Language Settings (PCL vs PostScript)

If the issue persists:

  • Go to Printer Properties > Advanced > Driver and ensure the correct driver (PCL6 or PostScript) is selected.
  • Try switching between PCL and PostScript drivers to see if one resolves the issue.

Additional Tip:

If you're printing from a specific application (like Adobe PDF or Word), try printing from another app to isolate the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
