When printing a message titled "Printer Failure" pops up.

The message says ''There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn Printer off, then on. If problem persists contact HP.  I've tried the solutions but I haven't been able to speak to anyone on the phone to help.

Hi @WA1902,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Printer Failure" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 can be frustrating, especially if you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps. Here are some suggestions that might help resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Make sure all ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink.
  • Remove the cartridges and check for any protective tape that may not have been removed.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until you hear a click.

Reset the Printer

  • Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Release the button, and then turn the printer back on.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Connect your printer to your computer or network.
  • Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware if needed.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help diagnose and fix printing issues automatically.

Check for Hardware Issues

  • Look for any paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
  • Ensure that the printer is on a stable surface and not overheating.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
