Hi @Ossom120,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the communication between your computer and the printer when printing via USB. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both your computer and the printer. Try using a different USB port on your computer if available, or even a different USB cable if possible, to rule out any potential issues with the connection.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your computer and the printer can resolve communication issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a few moments, and then turn them back on.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer. You can usually download these from the HP website or through the printer's software if it has an automatic update feature.
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the correct printer is selected as the default printer on your computer. Also, check the print settings in the application you're printing from to make sure they are configured correctly.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  • Test with Another Computer: If possible, try connecting your printer to another computer via USB and see if you encounter the same issue. This can help determine if the problem is with the printer or the computer.
  • Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or notifications on your computer when trying to print. These can provide clues as to what might be causing the issue.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with your printer not printing from your computer via USB.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
